Team Rubicon has 64 COVID-19 response operations underway with four more in the planning stages. Already, 177 operations have been completed. Greyshirts are also in the field helping residents of DePue, IL recover from a recent flood. 

International: Roughly 9.6 million cases of COVID-19 and nearly 500,000 related deaths have been reported worldwide. In Europe, governments are acknowledging the persistence of the virus and seeking to minimize its economic impact with necessary, targeted mitigation measures. Some European countries are considering restrictions on U.S. travelers due to the prevalence of the disease in this country.   

United States: Over 2.4 million cases of COVID-19 and nearly 124,000 related deaths have been reported in the U.S. The increase rate has risen to 40,000 new cases per day, up from 25,000 per day earlier in the week. The White House COVID-19 Task Force is reconvening for the first time since April to address the resurgent outbreak. In the Northeast, NY, NJ, and CT have imposed a 14-day quarantine on travelers from several states with high COVID-19 test rates.    

How Team Rubicon is Responding to COVID-19   

Team Rubicon is answering requests for assistance from local, state, and federal partners to support emergency humanitarian relief efforts in communities across the country. Our response focuses on ensuring access to nutrition, medical care, and essential government services for people who have been impacted by the pandemic. We’re putting safety first and following precautionary guidelines on every operation to protect the health of our volunteers and the communities they serve. 

In addition to our organized operations, Greyshirts have performed 5,793 individual acts of service on a local level as part of our Neighbors Helping Neighbors initiative. They have also made 810 no-cost food deliveries to immunocompromised individuals and their families through the Emergency Food Assistance Program.

Our New Disaster Relief Operations

DePue, IL

Team Rubicon is responding to a flood in DePue, IL that damaged more than 180 homes. Greyshirts are providing basement muck-outs and appliance removal for individuals and families requiring assistance.
